Vancity Credit Union files statement of defence in case where former vice-president is suing

November 18th, 2012 · 1 Comment

For those who missed Chaper 1 of this saga, it’s here.

Now, Chapter 2, the response from Vancity. The interesting paragraph, for those who are time-pressed, is #1, which refers to problems with “management and leadership skills, and including concerns expressed by certain key personnel who resigned or threatened to resign in that regard.”

Please keep your comments on this side of the law.

The real story here is that this is a heavyweight battle.
Berge is represented by Hunter and Ken Mcewen (QC) along with a Harvard grad who had the pick of the litter when it came to picking firms to become an associate with.

Fasken’s dispute litigators are also heavyweights. Coval is one of their top guns and has a deep corner of litigation heavyweights in his corner as well.

The best of the best are squaring off here in court. Both sides are putting up $800/hour on this one.
