He he he, ‘ideas’. Oh, my….We’re on the precipice with this story.

The simplest solution for this problem is, for example, Ross and Civicscene to post a statutory declaration on their blogs that they have not been funded directly or indirectly by party x or person y.
If they are independent, them say so (but do not cover the truth).
How about a citizens disclosure form?.

@ Morven & Frances
I read Civic Scene this morning with much interest, anticipating a strident denial and threats of a law suit and the usual bombast associated with these kinds of allegations.
What was intresting was that it was not to be.
Instead we read a scribe lamenting the current political situation from a certain point of view with some anonymous name dropping (as per usual).
Based on his post that he would be answering the allegations, I was interested in reading what he had to say. Instead it was more of a woe is me and falls far short of providing any facts.
All rather sad and pathetic actually. The lack of defence makes it even more curious and gives more credibility that the allegations are not scurrilous that but in fact are the TRUTH.
All in all, further condemnation of whats really going on at 12th & Cambie by the powers that be.

Ross should be writing for a sitcom. Funny stuff!
You can tell he messages for pols. Won’t answer the main.questions. Tries to “change the channel”.
Blames others.
Weasel words. Considering the source, it fits.

I was looking forward to the follow up today of the prior post, allusions to “concerned citizens” with hidden agendas aligned to political counter forces – it all sounded so sinister and unseemly.
But then nothing. Communications severed with homebase?

Frances,
If you are interested to find out what people of Vancouver think your Boyo in China, Magee, Balem, Ross & company are doing to them, you’ll have to lay back for a moment and try to imagine what’s going on on a stud farm. Nuff’ said.

The shit has hit the fan at City Hall. Expect some press releases and possibly a “leaked” document that will attempt to damage CityCaucus, the NPA and Anton later this week. Vision is desperate and scrambling to come up with a response. Lots of closed-door meetings, conference calls and serious faces. The fear is palpable. I think someone really screwed things up and that person will probably be thrown under the bus to save face for Vision and Gregor. It’ll be an interesting week!

The hype is priceless. Count the typos.

The kind of thing FD Element offers its clients :
“the effective use of the Internet to achieve public policy objectives”;
“a unique ability to communicate clearly and creatively on complex issues with award winning skills in the execution of issue advocacy advertising campaigns”;
“help clients improve their brand and message”.
Maybe The Mayor’s office can get our money back.

“Count the typos.”
Out of curiosity, I tried… and came up with zero. Where are they?

Not often I agree with you Chris but I got the same result.. that’s scary lol
On a serious note, what’s more alarming is the lack of response from the usual suspects at 12th & Cambie which lends more credence that public monies were indeed used in an unscrupulious manner.
Should this be the case, its time for senior levels of government (ie: the Municipal Affairs Minister and perhaps the RCMP to get involved to get to the bottom of it.
This becomes unchartered territory but perhaps the map needs to be created.
Aside from the politics the people of vancouver deserve to know the truth.
Remember: Watergate was only a 2nd rate burglary after all.

In a sense the whole site is a typo. Their skills in the execution of issue advocacy advertising campaigns aren’t going to win any awards this time.
Maybe an honorary life membership in the NPA, like the one the NDP gave Faye Leung.

In a sense, your post was completely inaccurate.

Thanks for the tip. I agree with Jonathon; the lack of in-depth media coverage on civic politics is a serious problem this city needs to address.
