We all think the sun rises and sets on Vancouver politics, but this erupting storm in Langley township shows there is life — and contentious politics — elsewhere in the region.
The Langley Advance has the most complete coverage of this strange tussle between council and mayor that has resulted in the mayor being censured, although the actual details of the incident and allegations that led to the censure are a bit murky. Any further information anyone has that isn’t libellous would be helpful for us outsiders.

This is not the first Langley Township politician who makes reporters happy. Usually, the issues have something to do with someone in power (or someone close to someone in power) having their fingers in some kinda pie, or firmly yanking someone else’s chain.
The disappointment is that the characters are nowhere near as notable as the figures in ‘Chinatown’.

The page you referenced has been moved from the Langley Advance, but there is a follow-up article which includes the original story here:

I get a” story not found” at the link above, but this link below seems to work.
http://www.langleyadvance.com/Mayor+fires+back+censure/3524480/story.html
which, if you look halfway down, has the original story too, (appended) and the text of both motions.
Great coverage by Bob Groeneveld for the Langley Advance.
Soon, dastardly deeds in Deroche; Hellish halls in Hope, etc. ect.
But this is Township, and the real troubles are in the City the little enclave inside the greater Township.
Oh, and for the city folks without mud boots, the Canwest chain competes with the Black Press papers, so 2 papers in each area.
The Vancouver Slum and The Provincial rarely do much with the valley other than real estate adverts.
So see the Black Press alternative version in the Langley Times : Township council censures mayor http://www.bclocalnews.com/surrey_area/langleytimes/news/102900869.html
And the troubles of Shijiazhuang (sister city of Saskatoon http://preview.tinyurl.com/3cvqjx
) never leave council chambers.

Unbelievable that there are so many Politicians who love to get into the pork barrel.
Democracy is so little valued and even worse there is so little opposition to those that steal away with it in the cover of night.
