It really is park and school that are the sticking points

That’s the latest, as official as I can get word. Council is decided but it’s very close for the other two. Since every candidate has a scrutineer in the counting room fighting over every ballot, now the word is another half hour to an hour. In the meantime, for those of you with nothing to do, hop over to the The Gazetteer for a funnier, more colourful first-person account of the day than I have had up.

    This is what passes for good blogging? None of us scrutineers were fighting for every ballot-every one of us agreed on ballots that did not favour our candidates if we though voter intent was clear. The discussions around disputed ballots were extremely friendly. It may be less dramatic, but the truth (that there were a lot of ballots to count, and poll workers putting accuracy above speed) has the added advantage of corresponding to reality.
